Dana Lyn and Kyle Sanna CD Launch!
Dana Lyn has a new album out with Kyle Sanna called The Hare Said a Prayer to the Rainbow and Followed the Fox Down the Hole. They will launch it Wednesday, Nov. 23 @ 8:30 pm at Caffe Vivaldi (no cover).
A very innovative recording – mysterious, playful and charming with some lovely musical surprises. From the excellent musicianship and skillful and fascinating arrangements to the relaxed whimsy of the CD package, the whole project is bursting with creativity, yet still manages to convey a love for simplicity – a remarkable achievement.
– Kevin Burke
Dana has recorded and toured with Mick Moloney’s Green Fields of America, Grammy Award-winning vocalist Susan McKeown, Compass recording artist Nuala Kennedy, the late Johnny Cunningham and Cherish the Ladies. Kyle has performed with some of today’s greatest virtuosos, including Edgar Meyer, Yo-Yo Ma, and Chris Thile and has arranged for Korean pop superstar Rain, Irish fiddler Martin Hayes and Yo-Yo Ma. In this album, Dana and Kyle break fresh creative ground that retains a deep respect for the music’s tradition and history.

Help Fund IONA’s CD!
IONA is preparing to launch its 25th anniversary CD, Silver, in a few weeks. We’ve embarked on a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to help us finalize the last steps of the project since we are at the end of our financial resources. Ouch… The GREAT news is that we’re offering a number of cool incentives to encourage you to pledge a donation! If you’re unfamiliar with Kickstarter (or even if you are), please check out our site at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1223030208/ionas-25th-anniversary-cd . We can guarantee you a signed copy of the new CD as well as several other bennies for certain, quite reasonable levels of contribution.
As you know, we value every one of our fans — we wouldn’t have lasted 25 years without your support. This is a nifty, grass roots way of being a part of our endeavors — we hope to list you as a backer on the website. With all the changes in the music reproduction business in this new century, all of us are seeking alternative ventures to produce our music electronically for your private enjoyment. I think this is a particularly organic way to become part of the process: we know many of you personally and want to acknowledge your support as part of our creative process. We truly couldn’t do it without you – on so many levels.
In conclusion, we would love to become your village (thanks Hillary)! This is one of those rare bonding experiences that brings us closer than ever, and creates a successful community. In advance, THANK YOU from our hearts! You keep us going, and we hope we do the same for you…
With deep gratitude,
Barbara, Bernard, Chuck, Kathleen and Jim
