Patrick Ball at IAANJ

On Friday Nov. 19th 8:0PM, we will be thrilled to have the great wire strung harper, PATRICK BALL, presenting his one man play, interspersed with lots of amazing music, called THE FINE BEAUTY OF THE ISLAND. It is about the Blasket Islands off the coast or Ireland, it is about their desertion, a historic event known as THE VANISHING. I have seen this play already at the Irish Arts Center in NYC last year, and he is amazing. His music is amazing, the storytelling too. Don’t miss this. You can read about him and reviews by clicking here.

Click here to see him on YouTube–a truly amazing performer and gifted musician! Don’t miss this show!

Tickets are $20 or $15 for IAANJ members.

Patrick will also give a workshop!! $25 from 6:00-7:30. He will be using his wire harp, but if you only have a nylon harp, that is fine too. The workshop is also part lecture, on the history of the harp, O’Carolan, and much more, so is great even if you don’t play but are interested in the harp. I also have taken this class and was captivated….so much so that I ran out and got a wire strung harp! Treat yourself to this workshop if you play harp or are interested in the history of Irish music. Reservations being taken now… and advisable, plus it helps us plan the seats and the great food included in the ticket price! We do however need firm reservations for the class by 11/19/10 by 3:00PM. email irisnevins@verizon.net to reserve for the class or show or both. You can call 908-813-8617 too until 6:00PM on the 19th before the show to reserve as well for the performance.

IAANJ is located at 352 Richard Mine Rd. Rockaway Tnsp. NJ. Directions at http://www.iaanj.com contact irisnevins@verizon.net for all music reservations and inquiries.
