Paddy in the Holler in Great Falls

You may know Patrick O’Flaherty from his years touring with the Poor Clares, or his time running the Irish Channel Pub with brother, Danny, or his sojourn in Alexandria (the Irish Radio Show’s Musician of the Year Award – 6 times). These days he owns the Irish Pub in Lewisburg, WV and rarely makes it to DC. A native Irish speaker from Co. Galway, he sings and writes in Irish and is a master on mandolin, bouzouki, tenor banjo and button accordion.

In 2007 he joined forces with two Appalachian musicians: Jim Costa (WV legend in old time music circles) and Mary Dailey (gifted songbird at home in both the Celtic and American traditions). They became Paddy in the Holler creating a hearty brew of poignant ballads, humorous ditties, songs in Irish, mountain blues, waltzes, hornpipes, airs and more, and they’ve been earning an impressive list of credits under the by-line “Ireland meets Appalachia”.

Don’t miss their DC debut at the Old Brogue in Great Falls, VA on Sunday at 5 and 7 pm.
