Ninth Annual Irish Arts Center NYC Irish Dance Festival

Sunday, May 2, 1pm-8pm

Riverside Park South, Pier I at W 70th Street

Come out to the pier to enjoy a day of great Irish dancing!

Led by Artistic Director Niall O’Leary, TCRG, ADCRG, the Festival will once again kick off the Summer on the Hudson series at Riverside Park South! This celebration of Irish dance and culture is not to be missed, featuring performances from top Irish dance companies from the New York metropolitan area, fun everyone-out-on-the-floor dance for children and adults, music sessions, Irish language classes, a singing circle, children’s face painting and a lively evening-ending céilí for all!

Come with or without your dancing shoes – the entire day is free and open to all! FULL BAR and food with special Irish Dancer Menu!

TIME MAIN STAGE – Area 1
1:00pm Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance (Performance)
1:15pm Children’s Céilí Dancing: everyone out on the floor!
1:45pm Keltic Dreams (Performance)
2:00pm Niall O’Leary Fun Dance (Non-competitive Solo Dancing)
Learn some Irish Step-dancing moves, suitable for beginner-intermediate Irish dancers! All ages!
3:00pm Petri School of Irish Dance (Performance) featuring their World Champion dancers!
3:15pm Donny Golden Fun Dance (Non-competitive Solo Dancing)
Learn some Irish Step-dancing moves, suitable for beginner-intermediate Irish dancers! All ages!
4:15pm Donny Golden Dancers (Performance)

4.30pm Niall O’Leary Irish Dance Troupe (Performance)

4:45pm Adults Ceili / Set Dancing: everyone out on the floor!
5:45pm Darrah Carr Dance (Performance)
6:00pm-8:00pm Céilí: Set and Céilí Dancing for All: everyone out on the floor!

We will be calling simple dances, everyone can join in, even if you have 2 left feet!

2:00pm Traditional Irish Music Session – All Welcome!
3:30-4:15pm Irish Song Circle Workshop with Louise Walsh
4:45-5:30pm Panel Discussion with special guest Riverdance composer Bill Whelan

1:00pm-4:00pm Children’s Face Painting
1:00pm-4:00pm Arts & Crafts for Kids

MUSICIANS

1.15pm-4pm Kevin McHugh Uilleann Pipes

4pm-8pm Cleek Schrey and Rhys Jones

Multi-instrumentalists Rhys Jones (fiddle, banjo, guitar) and Cleek Schrey (fiddle, piano) perform American and Irish traditional music that spans continents and centuries. They perform dance music that has been set free from the traditional rules.
