Instrument Makers in Parsippany!
At the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann North American convention in Parsippany, New Jersey this weekend (April 8 – 11, 2010), a number of instrument makers will be exhibiting their products, providing an opportunity to meet the makers and try out their instruments. As of right now we are expecting the following:
The Button Box – concertina
Frank Edgely – concertina
Jeff Thomas – concertina
Windward Flutes – flute
Rob Forbes – flute
Walt Sweet – flute
Jerry Freeman – whistle
In addition, Forbes and Yola Christie of Windward flutes will be offering on-site repairs, and will be donating a portion of the fees they receive for these services to the fund we have established to help young musicians travel to Ireland to compete in the All-Ireland Fleadh this summer.
The instruments makers will each have a hotel conference room from 7pm until the wee hours (or they run out of energy) on the coming Friday and Saturday night. Please stop by and pay them a visit.
